An ecosystem, not a single product.

Proxmox is more than a hypervisor. It is a suite of four distinct, natively integrated products covering virtualization, backup, multi-site governance, and email security. Everything is open source and manageable through the command line and APIs.

Each product is self-contained and can be installed independently, while native integration dramatically reduces operational complexity compared with stacks assembled from multiple vendors. The suite provides consistent REST APIs, coherent web interfaces, and one configuration model.
